i am still a baby
Acrylic Painting

This artwork serves as a visual expression of my fear of growing up. Although maturing into an adult undoubtedly brings a lot of exciting changes, I equally, or dare I say exceedingly, feel burdened by the heavier responsibilities and worries that come with them.
In this painting, I convey the tension between my longing for the lightheartedness of youth and the approaching constraints of time. I chose to depict my own baby face as melting ice cream, symbolizing the inevitable and irreversible passage of time. To emphasize my apprehension towards adulthood, I incorporated the image of a wrinkled, stressed hand tightly clutching the melting ice cream cone.
In the background, I included a carousel, once a symbol of playful memories, now abandoned. This serves as a representation of the end of the "party of youth." Ultimately, this painting is my reflection on the complexities of growing up, portraying the desire to hold onto youth and the inevitability of progressing into a new phase of life.
