This artwork features precisely 179 croissants, serving as a manifestation of my deep personal connection with baking. Originally, I began experimenting with a piece of clay for this artwork. However, the texture of the clay triggered a profound sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the bread dough I had worked with as a baker.
Arranged in a radial pattern symbolizing a clock, the croissants mark the timeline of my shift hours of work from 9 AM to 5 PM. This circular arrangement not only represents the passing hours but also encapsulates themes of repetition, staticness, and the tangible manifestation. It becomes a visual representation of the cyclical nature of labor and the static moments that collectively shape our journey.
The process of creating this project was both ritualistic and sentimental for me. The circular composition serves as a visual meditation on the continuity of effort, marking the passage of time and the cumulative impact of my endeavors.
